Frequently asked questions

We are currently offering the Diploma in Enrolled Nursing, and from mid 2023 we will be launching a range of new courses including a Level 3 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, and a Pre-Nursing pathway.

The majority of staff teaching in the programme are Registered Nurses with current practicing certificates. They have close links with colleagues in practice and work alongside students in clinical placements which keeps them well grounded in day to day nursing practice. In addition, the nursing advisory group is representative of different areas of nursing practice and informs decisions regarding current workforce needs.

The key to a healthcare system that improves the lives of New Zealanders is a diverse workforce of nurses and care workers. There is currently a huge shortage of health carers in NZ and this was highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Healthcare Academy of New Zealand is committed to improving this shortage by delivering work-ready graduates in Enrolled Nursing.

Yes! One of our strengths is the strong relationships we have within the industry. We are partnering with Evolution Healthcare, Green Cross Health and Oceania Healthcare to offer our students clinical placement and employment pathway opportunities. This includes some big brands like Life and Unichem Pharmacy, as well as private hospitals and clinics across the country.

Our campus is located in the heart of Auckland City on Symonds Street. From 2023 we will be expanding out into other regions of New Zealand and growing an online offering.
