Our qualification will set you up for success in health fields. In 18 weeks you’ll learn the following four courses onsite with our passionate team.
This programme has a twin focus: learners will gain both academic skills to help them prepare for university level study, and important foundational knowledge on the subject of human health.
Course 1: Health in Aotearoa
This course explores the social and environmental factors that influence health in Aotearoa, addressing common health concerns specific to the region. It also fosters a deep cultural understanding of healthcare practices, providing valuable insights into how different communities approach health and wellbeing in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Course 2: Human Development
This course delves into the key concepts of human development, exploring the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth that occurs throughout the human lifespan. It provides a comprehensive understanding of developmental stages and how they influence overall well-being.
Course 3: Human Structure and Function
This course provides an in-depth look at the structural and functional components of the human body, with a focus on the various body systems and how they work together. It also covers essential homeostatic processes that maintain balance and stability within the body.
Course 4: Career Development
This course focuses on developing the skills and strengths of rangatiratanga (leadership) within the healthcare context in Aotearoa. It emphasizes personal and professional growth, guiding students through goal setting to enhance their career trajectory in the healthcare sector.

Must hold a relevant health related Level 3 qualification (e.g. H&WB L3) or have achieved NCEA Level 2 or equivalent or have successfully applied for Special Admission (if over 20 years old).
International students must have achieved IELTS level 5.5 (average) with no band width lower than 5.0 (or equivalent).
